We evaluate the potential impact of presidential trade policy proposals on North Dakota soybean export dynamics and farm income. The primary objective is to provide actionable insights and strategic guidance to the North Dakota Soybean Council (NDSC) and its stakeholders, including soybean farmers, exporters, and associated agribusiness entities.


The research will involve:

1. Utilize historical export data, current trade policies, and economic models to predict future export trends and potential market shifts.

2. Develop various trade policy scenarios to assess potential outcomes for exports and farm income and prepare strategies for North Dakota soybean stakeholders.


The primary target audiences for this project are:

1. Provide soybean farmers with crucial information on how trade policies might affect their market access and pricing, assisting in strategic planning and risk management.

2. Offer exporters and agribusinesses insights into potential changes in trade dynamics, enabling them to adapt business strategies to maintain and enhance their competitive edge in international markets.

3. Supply policymakers evidence-based analysis to inform decision-making and advocate
